Layers and floorplan

Add interactive material options visitors can switch, attach product details to each option, and overlay a floorplan minimap with scene waypoints.

Two features turn a flat walkthrough into something a client can interact with: layers, which let a visitor switch finishes like paint colour or flooring inside the viewer, and the floorplan minimap, which shows where each scene sits on the plan. Both are optional. Open the tour in the editor first.

Layers: let visitors switch finishes

A layer category is a set of choices (for example Paint Colours or Flooring), and each choice is an option (for example Warm White or Oak). When a visitor picks an option, the viewer swaps in the image for that finish. A bar of choices appears at the bottom of the viewer whenever a tour has categories.

Add a category and its options

  1. Click the Layers tab in the right panel.
  2. Click the add control and give the category a name, such as Paint Colors or Flooring.
  3. Add an option to the category and type its name in the Option name... field.
  4. Set a colour swatch for the option so visitors see the colour in the choice bar.
  5. Mark one option as the default if you want it selected when the tour first opens.

Assign the image for each option, per scene

An option only changes the view if it has an image to show. You assign that image per scene, so the same Oak option can use a different photo in each room.

  1. Select the scene you want to set up.
  2. In the Layers tab, find the option.
  3. Assign a library image to that option for this scene.

Repeat for each scene where the option should apply. When a visitor picks the option, the viewer overlays its image on top of the base image.

Add product details to an option

Each option can carry the real-world product behind a finish. When a visitor selects options, the viewer shows an Asset Details panel listing the specifications for everything currently selected — useful for a client who wants to know exactly what they're looking at.

Open an option's Product Details section and fill in any of these fields:

  • Product Name
  • Manufacturer
  • Material
  • Dimensions
  • Price
  • SKU
  • Description

You can also add an external link (it must start with https://) so a visitor can click through to the product page, plus your own custom label-and-value pairs for anything the standard fields don't cover.

Floorplan: show where each scene sits

A floorplan minimap is a small plan in the corner of the viewer with a dot for each scene. As a visitor moves between scenes, the active dot updates, so they always know where they are.

Upload a floorplan

  1. Click the Floor tab in the right panel.
  2. Click Upload a floorplan image and choose your plan.
  3. The plan appears in the panel once it's uploaded. There's one floorplan per tour — uploading a new one replaces it.

Place a waypoint for each scene

A waypoint is the dot that marks a scene's position on the plan.

  1. Choose a scene that doesn't yet have a waypoint.
  2. Start placing, then click the point on the floorplan image where that scene sits.
  3. The dot is dropped there. Repeat for every scene.

Adjust how the minimap looks

Below the floorplan are controls for the minimap's appearance:

  • Display Size — drag to set how large the minimap is in the viewer
  • Opacity — drag to make the plan more or less see-through
  • Show Compass — turn on to add a compass to the minimap
